BY ALUNDRA NELSON · POSTED MAY 28TH 2024
This year, the founders of One MusicFest launched the inaugural Twogether Land, a two-day music festival in Dallas, Texas, on May 25th and 26th, 2024. Held at Fair Park, home to the city's renowned fairgrounds, the event was a massive success. It featured many sponsors, including Martell, Febreze, Toyota, and Jack Daniels, who enhanced the festival with fun activations like karaoke, corn hole, and plenty of giveaways.
Twogether Land also provided areas for attendees to cool down and still have a blast, such as an indoor skating experience and a wide variety of food vendors offering everything from Caribbean to Mexican cuisine. And let's not forget the delectable desserts! For podcast enthusiasts, the festival had live tapings of popular shows. Topics ranged from entrepreneurship, covered by Social Proof, to the fearless hosts of Whoreible Decisions, who delved into various kinks and sexual education. This festival truly had something for everyone, and we haven't even mentioned the artists yet!
Day One Highlights
Day one’s major highlight was undoubtedly Three 6 Mafia, who had the crowd rocking. Following them, Gucci Mane performed some of his classic hits like "Lemonade" and "Freaky Girl," with his wife on stage as his hype woman, dancing and singing along to every lyric. Rapper Key Glock also performed, sharing a heartfelt tribute to his late cousin, Young Dolph, by having the crowd sing along to Dolph's hit song "Preach" and shouting "Long Live Dolph." The night concluded with a much-anticipated performance by Summer Walker, who did not disappoint. Her polished wardrobe, set design, and choreography made for the perfect end to the night, leaving festival-goers amped for day two.
Day Two Highlights
Day two started off with a slight delay due to a tornado that hit the state in the early morning hours, necessitating repairs to equipment and tents. Updates were promptly sent out via various social media channels and the official TGL app, informing attendees that entrance to the festival would be pushed back from 12 PM to 1:30 PM. Concert-goers appreciated the prompt notice and live updates.
As attendees arrived for day two, many were hardcore fans of Texas’s own The Mexican OT, whose set did not disappoint. He performed many of his hits, mingled with the crowd, and signed memorabilia. This was followed by a set of local favorites curated by K104 radio personality Hollyhood Bay Bay, who showcased Dallas pride and shut down the stage.
As the sun set, camera flashes lit up for Atlanta rapper Jeezy, who delivered an electrifying set with the crowd rapping along to his hit "Put On." Keeping the Atlanta vibe alive, Latto graced the stage with her hit "Put It on the Floor," engaging incredibly with the crowd, meeting fans, twerking on speakers, and getting everyone hyped for the final performance of the night.
The grand finale featured the critically acclaimed "Best Rapper Alive," Lil Wayne, who brought the heat to match the pyrotechnic smoke! He performed many hits, including "A Milli," "Mrs. Officer," and "How to Love." His energy radiated throughout the entire festival, from the front of the stage to those seated on the lawn. He closed out with a heartfelt thank you to fans, saying, "Without you, there is no me," and walked off stage to Whitney Houston’s "I Will Always Love You."
